The Transition Year Graduation ceremony took place on Wednesday 24th of May and was well attended by students, Parents/Guardians and teachers involved in the delivery of the programme. There were many highlights throughout the year which included the trip to Killary, Junk Koture, the Variety Show, hike in Glendalough, trips to BD, Young Scientist and Wexford Garda Station. Transition Year Coordinator Mr. Maher praised the students for the manner in which they took on the wide variety of challenges many of which were outside their comfort zone. They further enhanced their teamwork skills, communication skills and presentation skills through their involvement in different projects throughout the year. As a group they were involved in numerous fundraisers throughout the year raising money for Cystic Fibrosis, Pieta House and the Hope Centre. Principal Mr. Wickham commended the group and highlighted how much they had matured and grown in confidence during the year. He also thanked the staff that assisted with the delivery of the programme highlighting that it was very much a team effort. Mr. Sharkey showcased all the activities that took place during the year with a video presentation. Mr. Maher presented the Transition Year student of the Year to the worthy recipient Katie Nolan, who excelled on an individual and a group level during the year.
