Awards Day 2025 Enniscorthy Community College:
Last Thursday saw Enniscorthy Community College (ECC) host its annual Awards Day ceremony. The event saw the school pay tribute to over 80 students for their academic achievements, sporting prowess and students that demonstrated leadership capabilities throughout the year. Special guests for the event included Eimear Ryan (Director of Schools with Waterford and Wexford Education and Training Board), John O’ Connor (Chairperson of Board of Management), Johnny Mythen T.D. and Councillor Aidan Browne.
In his address Principal Iain Wickham congratulated all award recipients for their perseverance and endeavour and urged them to continue with their personal growth and development. He thanked all members of the school community for their ongoing efforts and support which assists greatly in the smooth running of the school. A special mention was given to the following staff; Deputy Principal Tina Merriman for her continued support and professionalism, Conor Dempsey for his meticulous planning and administration of the event and Liam Sharkey, MC for the occasion. Aileen Walsh was also congratulated on her recent appointment to the second Deputy Principal in the school and will be taking up this role on the 1st of September.
Commenting on student of the year Dr. Wickham said that Katie Nolan “has a tremendous work ethic and a steely determination to work to the best of her ability, was very active in school life and was highly thought of by staff and students”.
The schedule for Gradam 2025 in the school was varied which reflects the varied character of school life across the different realms. A very important aspect of the ceremony was the Excellence in Class Awards, where the teachers of a class vote for a student who excels across the academic, cultural and sporting life of the school, 23 such students were honoured with this award.

A new team of 10 for the coming academic year were announced to the assembled crowd. Members of the Student Council also received recognition for their important contribution to school life.
