On Wednesday March 4th, students from second, third and transition year attended a performance of Blood Brothers in the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, organised by the English department.
This multi- awarding production did not disappoint with theatre musical legend Rebecca Storm playing Mrs. Johnstone. The students and staff thoroughly enjoyed the play and many commented on the staging and effects. As it is currently prescribed for Junior Cycle English, seeing the live show made it all the more memorable. The day was topped off with a stop at Mc Donalds along the way.
Here is what some of the students had to say about the show:
“I enjoyed the experience and I would recommend it to others because I think it is beneficial to see the play visually and not just read it.”
“Everything about the play was phenomenal, the setting, the songs, the acting, everything.”
“I enjoyed the experience, it was great.”
“I enjoyed it and think everyone should visit the theatre at least once.”
A special thanks to Ms.Jessica Doyle and Ms. Helen O'Brien for organising the trip.
