ECC chess club has run weekly in the JCSP library this year with Mr. Byrne and Ms. Flynn. The chess club has been busy with competitions such as the WWETB chess tournament and the Wicklow, Wexford tournament hosted by Glenart College Arklow. To finish off the year last week ECC hosted its annual chess competition in the school's JCSP library. 18 students took part in a highly competitive competition which culminated in a nail biting final between Dominykas Jakstys and Danylo Sevostianov. After an intense final Dominykas was crowned the 2026 ECC chess player of the year. Well done to Dominykas and to all of those who took part throughout the year.
