On Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th Enniscorthy Community College welcomed 24 students and 4 teachers from Fourmies in North Eastern France. These students have been exchanging emails and cards with Ms. Boukes's Third year French class all year. Wednesday morning the French students spoke about themselves in English, the Irish students spoke about themselves in French and all present were very impressed with their language competencies. Both groups spoke about myths and legends and then the French group prepared a delicious tarte au sucre with the 6LA group who prepared some delicious brown bread and vegetable soup. After lunch the French and Irish students tried out hurling, Gaelic football and finished the afternoon with a rounders match. On Thursday both groups of students went to the Heritage Park in Wexford where they had a guided tour and lunch. They all later returned to ECC where there was time to play some board games before our French friends had to leave us. They did not say goodbye but rather aurevoir and we look forward to seeing them again too. A special thanks to Ms. Angela Bourke and Ms. Fabienne Chapuis Osborne from the French department for organising all the different activities.
