Twenty seven students and members of the Greens Schools Committee from first to sixth years attended a workshop facilitated by Katie Ryan from Eco-UNESCO. The workshop was funded by Enniscorthy Community Alliance and is an ongoing collaboration. Today the topic of waste warriors was explored. Students took part in a walking debate, listed their daily waste and proposed solutions to this waste, completed an energy conservation study in the home and learned about the hidden water in the production of some everyday items- 16000 litres (approx) of water in 1 kg of steak. The students were eager to share their thoughts and experiences in all aspects of the workshop. We thank Katie and look forward to welcoming her and her colleagues back to ECC in the Spring. Thanks to Ms. Aine Sheeran for organising the workshop.
