Thirty three Fifth year LCVP students visited our local Pettitt's Supervalu, as part of their School/Business Partnership. Cormac Pettitt, the managing director offered students an insight into what it takes to run a hugely successful business. This was followed by a question and answer session, where three of our students won store vouchers for asking the best questions. Students were then given a tour of the store, the fresh meat and delicatessen and the stock room. They will use all of the information gathered today, to write their Summary Reports for their Portfolio.
We then visited our local Community Allotment, where students learned about the aims of the ECA. They were very impressed with all of the ongoing projects, including Pumpkin carving, the Rockin Food & Fruit festival and the culture night, to name but a few. We are blessed to have such an amazing facility on our doorstep and some of our students are keen to start working on their own plots for Agricultural Science projects. A special thanks to Ms. Laura Mc Walter, Ms. Fabienne Chapuis Osborne and Ms. Sinead O'Donovan who accompanied the students on the trip.
