Last Friday was a historic day as Enniscorthy Community College and Bridgetown College played their Wexford -Wicklow U19 semi- final on the new municipal astro turf pitch in Enniscorthy. It was a great game by two well matched sides. Enniscorthy went in 2-0 down at halftime having given up two soft goals. Enniscorthy got back into it in the second half and got one back after ten minutes. We couldn't unfortunately get the equaliser. Enniscorthy went chasing the equaliser in the last ten minutes and pushed up. We unfortunately couldn't convert any of the chances that came our way. With Enniscorthy pushed up the field, Bridgetown broke with two minutes left on the clock and put one more on the scoreboard to finish the game out 3-1. The final score line didn't do justice to the efforts of the Enniscorthy team or to how close a game it was. We thank the 6th years for their efforts over the last 5 years with the school soccer team, we had some great days out and some well deserved silverware, but unfortunately today ended our journey this year. A special thanks to the management team of Mr. Darren O'Ceallaigh and Mr. Ciaran Ruth.
