Stand Up Week

This week we celebrate Stand Up week in Enniscorthy Community College. Throughout the week there are a number of activities scheduled to raise awareness regarding LGBTQ+ issues. A powerpoint presentation will be given to all students focusing on how to be a good ally. In the presentation eight tips will be given on how to support the LGBTQ+ community. The signing of the Ally board by members of the school community will take place at lunchtime in the canteen. On Thursday there will be a bake sale in aid of an LGBTQ+ charity and the week finishes with Rainbow day on Friday where all members of the school community can dress as colourful as they can. All staff have completed training in the Belong To LGBTQ+ Quality mark which helps the school to further promote inclusion. A special thanks to Ms. Natalie Doyle for coordinating the activities throughout the week.

Our 6lca students and their teacher Ms Sarah Walsh created beautiful cupcakes for a bake sale held in school on Thursday. The proceeds of the bake sale will go to support TENI a charity in aid of the LGBTQ+ community. The students raised 157.75e which will be of great help to the charity.
