Well Done Katie

Katie Nolan of Enniscorthy Community College is selected as Regional Final Winner of the Rotary Youth Leadership Development Competition.

On the 17th of November, Enniscorthy Community College Transition Year Student Katie Nolan was crowned winner of the Rotary Youth Leadership Development Competition at the National Yacht Club, Dublin. The Rotary Youth Competition recognises and celebrates Ireland’s youngest leaders and Katie impressed the judges with her progressive, ambitious and empathetic approach to current affairs.

Katie’s success comes after she was selected to represent her school in the Rotary Youth Leadership Development Competition Club Final on Monday the 7th of November in the Riverbank House Hotel. This stage of the process saw Katie beat tough competition from 12 other finalists selected from over 40 students across the county. Katie was accompanied by her mother Catherine, her friend Molly Brady, her Business teacher Sinead O’Donovan and Luke Maher (Transition Year Coordinator).

Katie will now reap the rewards of her success and enjoy trips to Strasbourg, Belfast and Dublin in the coming months with fellow Regional Final Winners from around the country. On behalf of the school community school Principal Dr. Iain Wickham congratulated Katie on her wonderful achievement emphasising that Katie is an excellent role model for her peers along with demonstrating excellent leadership skills. He also thanked the staff that assisted Katie on her journey particularly Luke Maher and Sinead O’Donovan and Wexford Rotary also particularly Dr. Eamon Tierney for his help.
