At ECC we participate in Hurling and Gaelic Football competitions. In both codes, we have teams representing the school at Juvenile (U/14), Junior (U/16) and Senior (U/18) level. Training is scheduled for Tuesdays throughout the school year, and we are delighted to avail of the services of a GAA coach from Wexford GAA County Board to help with training. We take part in Division C in both Hurling and Football and are very competitive in this division, often winning the Wexford Finals and advancing to South Leinster. In 2016/’17 we lost out in the South Leinster football final to the Kildare Winners and in the Hurling, we were runners up at senior and junior level in the Wexford finals.

Our cohort of players come from local clubs such as The Rapparees/Starlights, The Shamrocks, Ferns St. Aidans, Marshalstown/Castledockrell, Oulart/The Ballagh, Oylegate/Glenbrien, Monageer/Boolavogue, Davidstown/Courtnacuddy, Crossabeg/Ballymurn, Ballyhogue, Rathnure and Duffry Rovers.

Our colours are green and navy and our most recent set of jerseys were kindly sponsored by the Next Level Construction. In recent years, the Parents Association kindly donated to the completion on our school pitch in order to bring it up to competition standard. Over the years, many hurlers and footballers attend the school who went on to play in the Purple and Gold of Wexford most recently Ivan Meegan (U20/Senior football), Anthony Larkin (Minor/U20 football), Regan Treacy (Minor hurling) and Jack Kirwan (Leinster Minor hurling Champion). We are very proud of our tradition of Gaelic games at ECC. The teachers who are currently involved in the mentoring of our hurling and football teams are Keith O’Hara, Denis Murphy, Cate Donohoe, John Tubritt and Paul O Dwyer.
